Corrector
Facial concealer is a color cosmetic that is designed to cover skin imperfections. Products of this type are used as part of a full make-up, but they can also be used locally to look good without foundation on the face.
Correctly selected and applied concealer evens out the skin tone. It also helps to optically slim and shape the face. It has a rejuvenating effect and has a positive effect on the overall perception of a person's image.
What types of concealers are there and how to choose the best one?
Concealers are divided into camouflaging and illuminating. The former come in many colors because their purpose is to mask various skin problems.
The purpose of a brightening concealer is to brighten selected parts of the face. Choosing the right shade of the product is very important in this context. It should be slightly lighter than the foundation, but maintain the same color tone (warm - yellow, cool - pink or neutral - beige).
Another division of face concealers includes their different consistencies. The most popular are liquid concealers. They usually have a jumbo or brush applicator. There are also cream concealers, which have a more compact, thick formula. They are used on imperfections and in problematic areas, from which foundation rubs off quickly (primarily on the nose and chin).
How to use face concealer?
Start your makeup by applying a base that prolongs its durability or a light cream. Then, tap colored concealers into strategic places on the skin:
- cover dark circles under the eyes with red or orange concealer,
- apply green concealer on redness (e.g. on the nose),
- apply pink concealer on freckles and discolorations,
- Use a purple concealer to camouflage dark circles after cosmetic procedures and other yellowish blemishes on your skin,
- Apply yellow concealer to dull skin to add radiance.
